Life in a Fishbowl

"Not more surely is the place prepared for us in the heavenly mansions than is the special place designated on earth where we are to work for God."
(E.W., CSA p.64)

We are eagerly counting down the days until our first trip with Samson into the "campo." Even the three bus trips to Cochabamba this last month didn't fulfill our desire for the freedom and fresh air of the country. However, we've been very encouraged by the quote above.

La Paz is set in the head of a canyon, giving it the very look and feel of a fishbowl. While we are not used to the confinement of city life, God has blessed our time here in many ways. It has certainly been nice to get to know the city, be within an hour of all the government offices for processing paperwork, easily access public transportation (six "bus" lines pass our apartment), and find lots of opportunities for ministry.

God is taking care of His little fish. Here we are, 100 days after arriving in Bolivia. Last week we turned in all our paperwork for our residency visas and it was accepted! This week we got our passports back with a 2-year visa stamp and the paperwork to get our Bolivian ID cards and driver's licenses. Also, Samson, the bright yellow Land Cruiser, sits in our front yard, many parts already fixed and several more in the pipeline. Our vehicle campaign goal has not only been reached, but exceeded! A special thanks to each of you who contributed! God certainly knows what his little fish need to share the gospel with other little fish, and with licenses and a vehicle, the jump into a bigger fishbowl is just around the corner.
